Devastating Fire broke out in Domjur, Howrah : Death Toll - 01

A devastating fire broke out at a house in Mouri Ambagan, near Laxmi Kamal Hospital, Domjur Block, under Domjur Police Station, at around 1:05 PM. After receiving information, a Civil Defence team comprising five CDVs lead by one SOI alongwith modern equipment like SCBA Set etc. was immediately deployed to the site, and two persons were rescued. However, an elderly person, Gopa Mukherjee (68), became trapped inside the house and unfortunately died in the incident. The fire was brought under control at around 3:20 PM, after which the deceased was recovered and sent to Domjur Gramin Hospital.
